SANTA SAVES CHRISTMAS
                          A play By Oinkers the Pig
                                  December 2000



SCENE I (santa's workshop.  the elves are making toys, all except
	
huey who is missing.)

(enter Santa)
Santa: Hello little worker elves, how are the toys comming along?

Elf #2: They are comming along fine Santa, though I think we will 
	have to work late in order to get them all done.

Santa: I'm not going to pay you overtime, you know.

All Elves: That's fine Santa, we are happy just to work for you!

Santa: ho ho ho, of course you are!  Show me what you are making.

Elf #2: I am making a box of legos bricks.

Santa: ho ho ho that looks fine but I think you need more red ones.

Elf #2: Of course Santa, how silly of me!

Santa: (to elf #3) What are you making?

Elf #3: I am making Voltron, defender of the universe.

Santa: ho ho ho, that looks very good, but don't forget the people!

Elf #4: I am making a wooden spoon for someone who likes to cook.

Santa: I guess you are right, grown ups do need presents too, but make 
	sure and make some toys tonight.

Elf #4: yes santa.

Elf #5: I am making-

Santa: (interupting) Where is the head elf Huey?

Elf #2: He is sick Santa.

Santa: sick, but how will you finish by tommorow without him?

All elves: we don't know.

Santa: I will go see him!

SCENE II(Huey's bedroom, he lays in bed moaning.)

(enter Santa followed by Elf #2)

Huey: "Ooohhhhhhhhhhh

Santa: Huey, this elf said you were sick.

Huey: yes santa, I feel terrible!

Elf #2: what are we going to do Santa? There will be no Christmas
	for boys and girls and pigs if we don't get the toys done! 

Santa: ho ho ho, I will think of 
	something........(thinks) I know! we will get him some medicine!

Elf #2: Santa you are so smart!

Huey: will medicine help?

Santa: Of course it will!  (looking at elf #2) send three of the
	elves to the pharmacy for some medicine right away!

Elf #2: yes santa!

(elf #2 leaves)

Santa: you know, Huey, you're all out of sick days this decade.

Huey: I know Santa.  I am sorry.

Santa: well as long as you don't expect to get paid for your time off.

Huey: of course not santa.

Santa: ho ho ho!

(enter elf #2, #4, #5, and #3)


Elf #4: here is the medicine Santa.

Santa: ho ho ho wonderful!  Give it to huey and have him drink
	the whole bottle. 

Huey: the whole bottle?

Santa: of course!  read the directions.

(Huey takes the bottle and reads the label)

Huey: You are right santa! ( he gulps it down).  I feel beter all ready.

Santa: ho ho ho everyone back to work!

SCENE III (santa's sleigh is ready to go, santa is already in it. 
 	the elves stand around telling him goodbye)

Huey: good bye santa, have a good trip.

Santa: I will now that you guys have finished all the toys.

Elf  #2: It took us all night with no sleep, but thanks to the medicine
	and Huey's recovery we got them all finished.

Santa: I am proud of you!  Now hurry and get started on next years
	batch before we get behind.

Elf # 4: Can we have a day off this year?

Santa: Since you have worked so hard I will give you Februaury 29th off!

All elves: Yeah!
(elves exit)

Santa: because of my quick thinking all the boys and girls and 
pigs will have Christmas!  Merry christmas to all
and to all a good night!
