"The Bears" Win First game of the Season
The Bears have won their first game of the season against "The Stars".
"The Stars" beat "The Pigs earlier last month and then went on to play "The Bears" in a 12 to 6 game.
"The Bears" were barely tying during the first two innings, but in the third they really started to score hit after hit, thanks to "The Stars" re-arranging of outfield positions.
Doggie had this to say, "I wish Booy were here to enjoy our first victory, but I'm sure he'll be here for our next!" Let's hope there is a next.

Baseball Fever
Yes, game night is still an institution, but the new craze here is baseball.
Three teams have formed a league and are trying their hardest to come out on top, though so far "The Stars" are 3 for 3!
I interviewed a few of the players and they had these comments: Pigelty-Wigelty (The Bears), "I am having a lot of fun playing baseball, though I should be the assistant coach."; Henry (The Stars), "I am so happy that everyone is having a good time."; and Batty(The Pigs), "i am sure we will start winning again."
Those who aren't playing baseball, or who are in a team that is not playing are invited to come watch the games!

Happy Fourth of July!
Yes, there will be a bar-b-que and fireworks! Please come!
Notice to Pool Users
There are no rocks allowed in the plastic blow-up pool.
Sharp rocks are what caused the puncture in the old pool, and my sources say that if this pool is punctured that way that another pool will not be purchased.
If you would like to continue to play in the pool all rocks must stay out!

Editorial:
Baseball Not Scored Correctly
By Charles the Frog
I don't like to complain, but if we are going to have baseball tournaments, perhaps we need to learn how to really keep score.
I'm not saying our flip a coin method is bad, just that it is hard to really say the game is fair when sometimes they score two points for one thing and then only one the next time.
I admit I'm not sure how score is kept, but I am sure points aren't awarded for the most balls missed, or many of the other things we award points for. I'm not saying we should give up baseball, just try to stick to the real rules.
