Volume XLV By Edgar T. Penguin April 2004
Editorial: Rude Iowan Needs Put In Place
By Annie
I am sure by now that everyone has seen a copy of the rude "chart" sent to us by Andy and regarding a certain pink pig who lives in this house.
Personally, I find it shocking and downright rude! Of course Oinkers is crabby and bossy and a little crazy, but to go that far and call him that...well, frankly it left me speechless - especially to think that my own brother is the culprit!     I, for one, have written a letter to that bad Iowan boy telling him that he had best amend his ways before I see him again and I urge everyone else to do the same. Make it clear to the spiky haired git that if he doesn't behave we'll show him who's boss!

Mother Ship Lands
By Oinkers
The alien invasion may be nearer than any of us thought.
In late March a mysterious vehicle appeared outside our apartment, disguised as a camper trailer. What was this mysterious thing? Who were it's occupants? What is the solution the mystery?
The answer is that it was the Aliens Mother Ship. The occupants were none other than the cat army! Why were they here? What was the purpose of their visit? We don't know yet, but I am sure that as the days progress the answers will become apparent.
It is important for all earthlings to keep an eye on any cats they are in contact with. Be wary earthlings, danger is immanent!

Captain Teddy

First Captain Teddy Convention Held
March 6th was a day for excitement, a day for fun and adventure. A day for Captain Teddy.
The festivities began early in the morning, with the auditorium doors opening at eight. Inside were booths selling everything from balloons to hamburgers to comic books. Everywhere were costumed teddies dressed as their favorite heroes, sidekicks and villains. Bears had come here from all states and frankly many were surprised not to see more familiar faces.
Early afternoon saw the debut of the new Captain Teddy Movie "The Calypso Caper", complete with it's new super villain Count Caribbean. The movie was excellent (see review). Once the lights came up Captain Teddy himself appeared on stage to the thunderous applause of hundreds of loyal fans.
Autographs were signed and souvenirs were bought. The excitement continued well into the night for most, and many have been left hoping that this might become an annual event.

New Residents Coming
As of May first there will be some changes here.
Joey's mother and brother are coming to stay here for a couple of months, until they can find an apartment of their own. There is also a rumor that Joey's step-father will be back in July and will also be moving to the area with Joey's mother.
What does that mean to us? For one thing we will once again have guests in our house, though we won't have to hide from them. Also it means that all the Iowa bears will be living here too, and will begin going to school with us.
I hope that everyone helps these bears to feel welcome and help keep them from feeling homesick.

Harry Progress Slow
Seymore the resident physiatrist has taken upon him self a new project, one of epic proportions. He is trying to uncover the source of the Harry's evil.
So far, progress has been slow on this massive undertaking. The first meeting with the Harrys ended with Seymore tied up and Pongo throwing Harrys left and right in an effort to save his friend.
Since then Seymore has met individually with a few of the Harrys but seems no closer to an answer. "The Harrys are just acting out," says the physiatrist frog. "It is important to my research that I let them."
Does the frog have a penchant for punishment? Is he truly suffering in the name of science? Is he just crazy? You decide!

Movie Review: Captain Teddy and the Calypso Caper
I was grateful to be one of the few present for the national unveiling of Captain Teddy's latest movie and I have to say it was well worth the long lines and fee at the door.
The teddies at "Captain teddy Production" have outdone themselves with the fantastic special effects, not to mention the costumes. The mutated octopus in the last half of the movie looks almost real!
Also, Count Caribbean is not only a believable super-villain, but is also well played and costumed. The character depth into the new villain is amazing, leaving you almost believing that this new nemeses has been around as long as Dr, Freeze and Vorticia the Vampire.
This is a movie that must be given a perfect ten out of ten and I highly recommend that everyone go to see it on the big screen - it is an unforgettable experience!
