August 28 - September 10 2004

Autumnal greetings my friends! Ahhhhh, fall is in the air, the leaves are falling, the birds are leaving, the pumpkins are growing... what a wonderful time of year!

Well, School has started. Once again we have Mrs. friendly as our teacher, and frankly I am not sure her nerves will hold up to another year of teaching Booy. Bubbles and I are well behaved, of course, as are several other of our fellow students, but Booy is so mad that he makes up for it! He is currently working on a severed hand to take to show and tell! I am not positive what it is made of, but I know the inside is full of red jello and several other ghastly things. He and Doggie are currently letting it "age" for the "authentic look". I have half a mind to warn Mrs. friendly about Booy's trick, but on the other hand it would be a better lesson for him if he gets in trouble.

Baseball is nearly done. We play our final game tomorrow against Orange Ducky - since we will not be playing in the championship. It looks like it is going to be between the Chargers and the Stars. >(sigh)< I had hoped we would win this year, but I guess there is always next year, huh?

I have continued to work on my Troccas cards and have the Flags & the Rings finished! Next I have the flowers suit to do and then just one more and I will make my instruction page!

The variety show is progressing well. it will be held on the 25th, the weekend after the championship game. Though peanuts and I are going to have a serious discussion, as he has continued to let everyone in without an audition. I have been going through the list of performers and trying to get auditions out of them, but it has been hard as many do not see the point in auditioning after peanuts has given the go-ahead. The Harrys are even planning an act! I cannot even imagine what horrific thing the Harrys will come up with, and I am fairly sure they are goin to wreck the show. I am trying to schedule them as the last act, but peanuts already told them they could be the opening act! He says it is absolutely wonderful that they are taking an interest in something constructive - I say they are planning something DEstructive!

We have gotten a new keyboard and mouse - they are both wireless! Oh yes, this means we can now play on the computer from the couch, and it also means no cords to tangle, but frankly I am not sure I like it. They both run on batteries which means if the batteries die I can't use the computer (it's not like these people buy batteries)! It also means when I knock the mouse off onto the floor I have to climb out of the chair and walk around to get it instead of just pulling it up by the cord like I used to, not to mention that the mouse weighs fifty pounds! As for the keyboard it does not make the nice clicky-clacky noise I so enjoy when typing, and part time it does not send the signals right because it very often skips letters! Like when I typed "planning" above, it came out "pann" instead. It is driving me crazy! But, it is nice and clean, and Charlie likes it, so I suppose it must not be all bad.

Ruby has not been very successful with her Rodeo. She has started a sign up list for interested parties and last I checked it had six names on it! I cannot believe that there are six bears in this house crazy enough to try to ride the alien cats! I told everyone what a crackpot plan I thought the whole thing was, that's when she got the six bears to sign up! I think she is nuts!

Halloween will be here next month and I am already planning my costume. I am thinking about going as a mummy or a roman emperor. Bubbles doesn't know what he wants to be. I told him if I go as an emperor he could go as my slave, and if I go as a mummy he could be a mummy too! I think we will win this years contest for sure!

Oh! Our exng trip! Buffalo had a Celtic festival, so of course there was one in Buffalo's teddy town! We all took the bus there and it was quite interesting. Me and Bubbles (and several other bears) got wooden swords, and Sherlock, Toby, Ruff and Spotty got kilts, hee hee! We listened to lots of Scottish music and even competed in some games, though we lost to the Scottish bears, of course. The best part was the bagpipe players! We got home quite late, but as the-Short-one's father was here she wasn't home so she did not notice.

Speaking of her not being home, this house has fallen into a state of messiness I shudder to describe. She has been gone every day for the last week or so with her father, her brother, her mother, or her friend (the one with the kid). I hope she intends to spend some time home this week and get this place straightened up! I guess the cobwebs are almost in season... but the cat fur tumbleweeds need to go!

Also, Charlie has not been home much either. he got his job at the Chicken Place and is apparently still working at that place taking care of bad boys on the weekends so he is never home. The-Short-One does not like it very much, but Charlie will not listen to her (for a change). He is planning on being a truck driver after Christmas, but he said it would only be for a year. One good point though, he promised he would take me on a trip or two with him! Wouldn't that be wonderful? Seeing the country, the opened road! I am looking forward to it now!

Well, this is getting long, so I had best go and spell check it, as this keyboard is not working properly!

Toodle-doo,
O
