October 10 - 23 2004

Hello my friends! Once again I am back, after a very stressful week. As you may have noticed, my website has not been completely updated. "Why is that?" you ask. Well, the answer is a long one. We have gotten the internet back (an extremely wonderful thing, I do not deny) and it is hooked through our cell phone (The-Short-One says to get normal dial up we would first have to get a land line for $30 a month and then pay the internet provider on top of it all, so it is too expensive to do the normal way). Anyway, guess what we are connected at? 56k? NO! 14.4!!!! That's right! It is excruciatingly SLOW!!! Whether because of the slowness or because my server has problems I was unable to upload everything to my website last week. I could only upload one file at a time, and when I needed to upload 49 files to the "extras" folder alone you can imagine how long this took! I was ready to bash my head into the monitor, let me tell you!

Of course slow Internet is still better than no Internet, but it appears someone will still have to go to the library to upload my site! So far no one has done this, so some of the new links in the extras section are not working right now. Hopefully The-Short-One or Charlie will take care of this problem very soon!

As I said in my last entry, The-Short-One went to her father's house for a week - the house with the nine alien cats. I didn't have to go as we obviously weren't going to visit Bubbles afterwards. Booy, on the other hand, did go and missed a whole week of school. He said nothing exng happened while he was there. Apparently The-Short-One got a tooth pulled or something and then they all sat around and watched Star Trek because her father bought the entire first season on DVD. Booy said they watched all 29 episodes and he is appealing that this should break his existing record for television viewing. Unfortunately the episodes were not consecutive because it took them five days to watch them all, so everyone says it doesn't count. Booy is upset about this and is trying to get a petition together ala Pigelty-Wigelty. I am not going to sign the petition as he did not watch them all in a row!

While they were gone Charlie kept the house fairly clean and nothing overly exng happened here either, unless you count the Mr. Tubby fiasco. Well, as you know Halloween is coming and everyone is trying to come up with original Halloween costumes. Well, Mr. Tubby and Bioloski were very busy working on a "secret" costume when there was a loud explosion. Apparently they were working on a robotic costume that turned them both into a giant robotic Godzilla and the wiring was obviously not very sound because something caught fire and the motor blew up! When this happened Mr. Tubby was trapped inside (Bioloski was on the bottom and since the explosion blew out most of the bottom he was able to escape). Well, Mr. Tubby was trapped inside this steal contraption, and Pongo and Buster Thomas had to come and try to get him out. It took four hours to release him, finally Pongo had to get a cutting torch to free the trapped dog. Mr. Tubby survived with minor injuries and is fine now, and Bioloski was slightly singed in the back region but he is doing fine now. Mr. Tubby was quite distraught about the whole thing and seems to think he will never be the same.

Speaking of never being the same, I was forced to undergo surgery at the hands of The-Short-One. So far the stitches have held, but the memory will live forever and ever.

When The-Short-One came back from her dad's house she brought some more bears with her! One of them is called Sir laugh-a-lot, and i was quite excited thinking that we had at least got an intellectual, but that is far from the reality! Sir-laugh-a-lot is a pink fury monster that loves scaring people and I'm not sure he's even British - though he claims he is. He and Baby Rexy have been getting along quite well, as if that were a surprise since they are both crazy! There is also Acorn, a squirrel, and her best friend Little Tweet, who is a pink bird shaped vaguely like a peanut. They have their own little band, Acorn plays guitar and Little Tweet plays the tambourine and sings. They mostly sing "folk" music, so it is something different. There is also Ricky, a raccoon who is a history and trivia buff and loves to read and tell long stories and his best friend Sleepy, a camel who spends most of his time looking for a place to take a nap. I do not understand why the-Short-one can not bring home normal bears! Though I have met all of the bears that live at her dad's house and frankly there aren't that many normal ones to choose from!

Ruby's rodeo is going along as planned. She has got ten bears signed up and is currently working on setting a date for sometime in November, she wants it after Halloween at this point but before Thanksgiving. Frankly I think they are all nuts, the last thing I would do if I were them was try to ride an alien!

After Booy got back he took his severed hand to school, unfortunately for him things did not go as expected. He had it in a plain brown paper lunch bag, and he stacked it over in the area of the classroom where everyone stacks their lunches and school bags. After lunch he got his sack and after a large build up about how this was "something" he "found in an old deserted barn", he pulled out a ham sandwich! Someone took the severed hand by mistake and ate it for lunch (it was in a plastic container and frankly looked a bit like a bad casserole). It soon became apparent who ate it as Toady (one of our classmates who is a large frog) got quite sick and had to be sent home with food poisoning! Toady's family is very mad and went down to the school complaining that Booy should be expelled. Booy maintains it was Toady's fault for eating the mess and says that maybe he should wear glasses because no one who could see properly would eat something that looked like a severed hand. Toady says it looked nothing like a hand and he just thought it was his lunch. Currently the school is trying to decide what to do. The-Short-One has to talk to the principal on Monday, so we shall see what will happen.

The-Short-One would have dealt with this already, but she was gone again. She, her mother and The-Slobby-Brother-Like-Person went to Iowa Thursday night for her mother's disability trial. I was glad not to go, though I was not invited. Though I hear Frosty went with them. Who is Frosty? Frosty is a snowman that The-Short-One bought for her mother. Frosty is living in Buffalo with the-Short-One's mother, though why he is living there with the "new" bears and everyone else is living here is not clear, but it does not matter to my story. Anyway, they left Thursday night and were not back until 1 am Saturday morning, and they did not sleep in all of that time! Frosty says the car trip was "fun, but the people got sort of crabby sometimes", but he also says he "enjoyed all the yummy junk food" especially "going to Kentucky Fried Chicken in Fort Madison, Iowa and seeing all the neat sights!". Hmmmppphhhh, I did not want to go, anyway. I can't imagine while Frosty would have wanted to go on such a boring trip!

Not much else going on… Oh! We have picked out our costumes, but I will wait until after the party to tell you what they are!

TTFN,
O
