July 27 - August 9 2003

Hello my faithful friends, it is I, your trusty pig. It has been a very boring couple of weeks here.

One exng thing did happen only yesterday - I was attacked by a giant earwig! That's right, an evil earwig attacked me while I was in the bathroom playing hide and seek. Of course I kept my head and immediately began spraying various things on this evil bug (we don't own any bug spray because the ortex guy comes once a month, so we aren't supposed to need it). Anyway, I tried shaving cream first, but all this did was slow the earwig down. Next I tried deodorant, but it had no effect at all. Last of all I tried Tilex shower spray and guess what? It worked! The-Short-One was a bit crabby having to clean shaving cream off the walls, but it was good for her. Besides, what did she expect me to do? Let the earwig crawl in my ear and nest in my brain? That's what they do, you know, though of course she said that they don't.

That little girl has been back, apparently she is going to be a semi-permanent visitor as it has been several months and she is still coming back. She hauled around Pigelty-Wigelty and Spud, among others. Luckily I was spared, though of course they all had to go and take baths because the child dumped a container of glitter on everything and they had gotten all sparkly. Candy thought they should stay that way, but of course they didn't agree. Frankly, a glittering Pigelty-Wigelty was so funny that it was almost worth the doubtless trauma that others must have suffered.

Speaking of spud, Lammy has recently taken an interest in Spud's annoying rap music. Lamby loves to dance, and is working on an entire routine to go with all of Spud's songs. He has even convinced his friend Speedy to dance with him, as he thinks that all "great artists need back up dancers". Frankly I think they are all crazy.

We have a baseball game tomorrow; it is us vs. Booy's team. I have hopes of wining and have been trying to make my team practice, but they are always making up excuses. Spotty has been busy lately trying to solve a rather difficult mystery involving the disappearance of Doggie's homemade marmalade. Of course he has hired Moos to spy in hopes of catching the culprit, so they have both missed practice. Seymore has been trying to teach Pongo some new vocabulary words, so he has also missed practice as well, not to mention Clarance John and his garden, and Annie and Betsy and their new roller-skating craze. It is very hard to have team practices when only Buster Thomas and I show up.

About the new roller-skating craze, I think it is getting a bit out of hand. Annie, Betsy, Candy, snowball and rainbow have all bought roller skates and are skating all over the house. The other day they were skating around when one of them lost control and ran into the table where several of us were eating spaghetti. Needless to say plates flew into the air and we ended up with spaghetti and roller-skaters scattered everywhere! It was a mess! They need to confine their skating to out of doors, afterall the new blacktop would be perfect for this (what a change for it to be good for something)! I think I shall write an editorial for Edgar's newspaper on this subject!

Oh, Clownie and co. are planning on puttin gona circus for us again. Cherry Pink and Apple Blosom are making the costumes again, only this time they are to be pink. I have seen the group practising and it looks to be a good show.

Well, I suppose I had better go as I have a couple of pictures to draw,

Ta-Ta,
O

Here are Roary, Sonett and Ellie practising for the circus.
Here i am being a brave piggy and fighting the terrible giant earwig!
This is Pigelty-Wigelty, Lammy, Edgar, Lammy, Speedy and Seymore covered in glitter.
This is Spud performing with Lammy and Speedy as his dancers. Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White made the backdrop and floor cloth they're dancing on.
And this is the great skating disaster - see what a mess it was?
