Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, etcetera and so forth. Well, the holidays are finally here, aren't they? The artificial twinkle lights, the plastic pine needles, the imitation eggnog, and of course the musty-basement smell given off by the Christmas decorations! What a lovely time of year.
To begin with, the computer woes have FINALLY been resolved. Charlie finally spent some time fixing the computer and discovered a setting under SETTINGS/ADVANCED that fixed the entire mess. I am thankful because frankly everything was so tiny that the computer was pretty useless!
Well, Thanksgiving was pretty boring here. Charlie and The-Short-One were gone all day, so we had the house to ourselves. Doggie and his assistants made a very delicious dinner - even Doggie's experimental pumpkin custard was good! Henry made us sit around reading off things we were thankful for - he does mushy stuff like that every year, and we watched some holiday movies. Frankly it was one of the best Thanksgivings we've had!
We decorated for Christmas, and I must say the house looks lovely! Even our sparse little tree looks good. Incidentally I am writing a song for our tree. "Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree, very sparse are your branches. Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree, very sparse are your branches. You were bought at Fred's you see, because you were so very cheap. Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree, very sparse are your branches." Pretty good, huh? Though, the little tree tries so hard, I just miss our nice big fluffy tree. If only it would fit in this apartment!
Anyway, I helped to decorate, though we didn't get to listen to our traditional Conway Twitty Christmas album because it's an OLD record and the needle on our record player finally died. We did get cocoa and butter cookies, though, so it wasn't a total loss, plus a radio station around here is playing 24 hour a day Christmas music, so it was all good.
The-Short-One went on a weeklong trip to Iowa to her Dad's house, so I stayed home this time, though of course Booy went. While she was gone Charlie cleaned the whole house really good as a surprise for her, and of course I helped a lot! I tried to make the cats leave Charlie alone and I inspected things. We used a sanding head on the shower and my how it shines now! We didn't dust, though, and of course we couldn't actually re-organize anything because The-Short-One would not have liked anything being moved. But we did work hard!
After she came back we got snow! We got lots of snow, I am sure it was at least three inches, though I didn't measure it. Anyway, we all went outside and went sledding and built snowbears and we even had a big snowball fight! It was great - especially since we got out of school for it. I mean, I like school, but it is nice to have a day off, especially when there is so much fluffy snow around!
Now, for the truly exng news: we have a new friend! Her name is Cuddles and guess what? She is related to my bestest friend Bubbles! Charlie found her in a store in Springfield and was asking her if she wanted to live with us and when he mentioned me and Bubbles she was very excited and told him she was Bubbles's cousin! They haven't seen each other in a long time, they got separated at the factory, because Bubbles got sent to Iowa and she got sent to Missouri. I can't wait to tell Bubbles, I know he will be so excited! I have done a profile on her, so be sure and check it out!
Well, that's really all that's happening here.
Merry Christmas,
O
