Volume XXXVII | By Edgar T. Penguin | August 2003 | ||
The first game pitted "The Bears" against "The Stars". "The Stars" saw a decisive victory of 22 to 7, "The Bears" only points being scored in the first three innings. "The Stars" went on to play "The Pigs", leaving "The Pigs" with a surprising victory of 15 - 8. Many speculate that the loss was caused by "The Stars" coach Clownie's bad health. Next month "The Pigs" will go on to play "The Bears". Hope to see everyone there!
Good - 44% Bad - 56% As you can see it was very close! Several thought it looked better, but didn't like the smell, while many complained of the heat it generates. The Penguin Post would like to thank all who participated in this survey!

Oinkers, who saw the whole thing happen, had this to say, "It was horrible! It began poring water down the wall and shooting out white foam. Luckily Charlie woke up and turned it off before anyone was injured,". After that there was no air conditioning for several days, causing many to take drastic measures to stay cool. "I found that sitting in a bucket of ice worked very well," says Doggie. Clownie said that sitting in the refrigerator was also a popular method. Luckily, the air conditioner has been replaced, and once again everyone is cool!
The Stars - 4 wins The Pigs - 2 wins The Bears - 1 wins So far as you can see it looks like the tournament belongs to the stars - again!

To begin with Oinkers had to cancel his pagent plans due to time constraints, "He could have done it anyway," says Annie. "He's just to picky and wanted it perfect." The annual Bar-b-que was held, with Doggie presiding as head cook. Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw and watermelon were on the menu. After dinner Booy headed the fireworks display, assisted by Edgar and Moos. There was only one slight mishap, resulting in Booy becoming slightly singed. Otherwise it was a perfect display.
It took two weeks for the job to be completed, and it is now finished. There are mixed feelings in the house as to whether this is an improvement or not. "I think it looks nicer than the gravel," says Rainbow. Another opinion expressed by Pigelty-Wigelty, "I don't like it! The sun heats it up too much and it burns my little feet! I liked the cement porch we had better!" Either way, the new black top is here to stay.
