Summer greetings, friends! School is officially out today - which is good on one hand because it gives me more time to concentrate on other things, but bad as our market for selling things has dramatically dropped.
Speaking of our fundraising efforts, we are a pinch short of the total we need - and we sold almost everything! The-Short-One has suggested we might make extra money having a garage sale or by doing extra chores. neither of those options are appealing to me, but we will discuss it at our next meeting.
We had a great bar-b-que on Memorial day. Andy almost set himself on fire trying to start the bar-b-que with too much lighter fluid, but the hot dogs came out quite tasty. We had our campout Saturday night (in an effort to break up the hotdog meals). it was a lot of fun, though Boo Boo DID let non-members come too. We had a camp fire and told ghost stories, Tommy told quite a scary one, in fact. It also did not rain, which came as a surprise to me!
Well, Booy not only got out of summer school with his sudden attitude change, but he also won the award for "most improved student" from our class! He won a Captain Teddy game - which he is quite happy about. The Harry's threatened to riot if Booy won, but the teachers suspected as much and corralled them so that they managed to keep them under control - no small task. Speaking of the Harrys you will never guess what they wore to school - their little angel costumes from the variety show. As if anyone was fooled by this! But Booy has been running around all day waving his game and his yellow certificate at everyone until I a soooooooo sick of the whole thing.
Guess who won the baseball game last week - ME!!!! Well, us, anyway. We beat The Stars 7 -6 (it was a close game). But afterwards there was a bit of an altercation wherein Annie hit me! She said i was being sarcastic, and that i had it coming! I felt she needed a good whack back, but the referee broke it up before i could do anything! At least we won, though! We will be playing Orange Ducky's team next week, so we need to practice.
Speaking of practices, they have been difficult. The alien fluff has yet again returned, so I have instituted a rule that we must all wear protective face masks, for everyone's protection from the fumes (which, as you may remember, causes us to forget that the cats are aliens and allows them to enslave us). Well, my team did not appreciate my kind gesture (I even provided their anti-fluff masks) and some of them (aka Annie) got quite irate about it all. I finally told the crabby members of my team that if they did not want to be protected from the alien fluff then it was their choice. But when Annie's brain has been eaten up (well, what little there is of it anyway) I don't want to hear any whining!
Not too much else going on here. It has been boiling hot lately, and the-Short-one still refuses to turn the sir conditioning on until she goes to bed. Speaking of The-Short-One, she has let this house go downhill as she has been busy with her paper dolls again! I wish she would actually clean something once in awhile!
Orange Ducky and Taylor have been busy getting ready for their big boat race next week. They are going to race on the cow pond, though I don't think it is a big enough body of water to make a conclusive victory, but what can I say - ducks are all crazy. Bubbles and I are planning to go, though.
Well, that is all for now.
Ta-ta,
O
here is Andy trying to set us all on fire with his bar-b-queing skills!
This is my piggy tent - Bubbles and I had a great time at the campout!
Here are some of us around the campfire.
here are the only team members who agreed to wear my anti-fluff masks - too bad for the rest of them!
