July 16 - 29 2005

Greetings to all! I have added a New Webset - "Magic"! Go take a look at it, as usual it is free to download and use - though I would hope you would link back to me!

Things have been happening right and left here - i don't quite know where to start!

To begin with, The-Short-One has finally fixed the about:blank CWS infection mess that we had on the computer! I am so glad, as I was sick beyond sick of the dragging and the pop-ups and the about:blank homepage! Whoever programmed that nightmare should be sued, let me tell you!

Now for the really big news - our trip! We went as scheduled and what a day it was! The bus ride was quite interesting, as the bus driver was very shocked to see that many teddies all going to the same place. In retrospect, i wonder if we should not have just hired a bus? Oh well, anyway, we got there fine with very few incidents (Bob got car sick and threw up, and we almost lost Susie at the gas station) and went straight to the Capital building - it was quite a walk! Jefferson City's Teddy Town is HUGE!!!! Luckily, the bus station was not far from the capital, so no one got lost or anything. The receptionist seemed to think we were a tour group, so we got the full tour! It was not until the end when we got to meet with Governor Silbus Grimbol that they realized their mistake, Heh-heh. I read of my little prepared speech (which left them with their mouths hanging opened) and demanded some answers! The Governor said he was shocked that our schools were not teaching us this vital information and that he would look into it immediately, then he disappeared! The tour guide was very unhelpful after that, she just shooed us out the door - we didn't even get to the gift shop! Well, we ate our lunch at the park across the street and decided something drastic needed done! By pooling our pocket money we managed to go to Dan's Dollar store (very good bargains there) and buy some poster board, some scotch tape and a marker. We then made some very catchy signs that said things like "Government represses the truth" and "Tell no lies" and "We want answers!". We then spent some quality time marching in front of the building and shouting quite loudly "we want answers, we want answers." This succeeded in getting the police called on us. I explained very nicely to the rather crabby officers that we had simply come to ask a few questions ad been shoved out. He said that he was sympathetic but that we were causing a public disturbance! Hrmmmpppphhhh! A public disturbance my eye! So, we then went across the street to the park with our signs and hollered at passers by that the government was keeping things from us. Finally a nice old bear ambled by and asked what all the fuss was about. of course I told him, and he then proceeded to laugh quite heartily. He said the reason they will not give us any information is because there is currently a bit of a scandal going on at the moment! Apparently only bears that lived in Washington D.C.'s Teddy Town were eligible to run, as the average teddy can not move on their own unless they abandon the people they live with. But the last election they changed the rules and so a Teddy that lives in a quite anonymous state won! It has been proposed to the teddy Senate etc. that they move the teddy capital to where ever the Teddy President is living at the time, but this has nor been popular, so instead there is a large movement to throw this teddy out of office and elect a new resident, but since the law was legally changed they can't do that either! Anyway, as the teddy president is not at the capital and not protected by his secret service bears, they are not telling anyone where he is located! Also, i have discovered that in order to vote you must have gotten out of school (like peanuts and Timmy) and that you must also be out of school in order to run for offices, too. He said that some of the bears in offices are very, very old (like over a hundred!) and that most of them don't even live with people anymore! It used to be a law a long time ago that they could not live with people but they decide that was not fair back in the forties! All in all the nice old bear (Stewart Tonsbee) was very helpful, so we left with quite a bit more knowledge than we had before, so I would say it was a successful trip! Now we are going to start writing letters demanding that they leave the new president alone and that if they want him to have secret service bears then they send them to where ever he lives!

Bubbles and I have nearly finished our bicycles - and just in time too! We are in the process of painting them red and purple right now (the first coat is drying as i type this). We should most certainly win!

The-Short-one got Harry Potter number six last weekend and spent ALL day Saturday reading it. As anyone who has read it knows, there are a lot of interesting twists and turns in it. Well, Charlie kept asking her questions, which she refused to answer so now he has started reading the series as well! he read one and two years ago, and is now almost done with four (he is skipping three as he does not like it and says it is boring). The-Short-one has been making mild remarks about his constant state of reading, but frankly i am quite glad and feel he could stand to read a bit more!

While The-Short-One was reading Harry Potter she did not get any of the housework done, and even though it has been a week she still has not caught up yet! Frankly, if she would spend less time on the computer working on her paper dolls and her mom's website then maybe she would have time to get something done!

Speaking of the new Harry Potter, I have read it as well and i have some opinions on it. I am putting them on a different page so that anyone who has not read the book will not accidentally read them and thus have the story spoiled for them (that means you to, Charlie!).

By the way, on the baseball front things are still mixed. We won the week before last against the stars, but then last week against the avengers. We get to play The Chargers tomorrow, so I am hopeful as we have been doing better than ever before this year!

Well, this has gotten quite long, and my paint is ready for a second coat so I will wind this up now.

Take care,
O
