July 30 - August 12 2005

Hello to all! Scholl will be starting very soon - as in 2 weeks (the 29th of August)- so we have been doing some back to school shopping today.

As I was saying, we did some back to school shopping and I must say i got the biggest, reddest, backpack that was available! It is also quite shiny, too! I am disgusted about the folders though. A few years ago I got some very nice Garfield folders with SIDE POCKETS as opposed to the pockets at the bottom, well, i need some new ones this year but guess what? They have NONE with side pockets! Not a single, solitary folder has side pockets this year! I need one with side pockets for keeping my drawings in - but NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I am quite upset about this, and also I have noted that the thickness of the folders has gone down as well - they used to be much thicker and sturdier. Now I think I could make my own out of card stock and have the same thickness - and SIDE POCKETS as well!!!!! Also, the "No-run" glue is a bit of a lie, as it still runs some (maybe they should cal it "less-Run" instead?)! And the art boxes - those chincy, cheapy, plastic ones! What happened to the good old fashioned cardboard ones with care bears and captain teddy stamped on them? What's with this clear plastic stuff? Are they afraid I am going to sneak something in inside my art box?!?!?! Arghghghghghghg!!!!!!

Now that I have vented my spleen on modern school supplies, I will tell you about the bicycle race. Guess who won? Come on, three guesses - and the first two don't count - that's right. it was..... ME!! Bubbles had a god chance of winning too, but Booy's bicycle disaster hit a rut, which knocked him into Bubbles and ended up bending both their front tires early on in the race. By the end of the race, several bears had gotten out due to bicycle damage, etc. so it was very close. tearful teddy came in right behind me, and Pigelty-Wigelty came in third. There is a rumor that everyone was planning on letting Tearful Teddy win and that I just won because I refused to be nice and let him win - but I think I won because I was the fastest! Speaking of Pigelty Wigelty, something strange was going on there. He had his red tennis shoes "on", peddling the bike. I find it suspicious that he could "wear" shoes since he has no feet, but I must admit I am a bit stumped. Though, the odd thing is that when they handed out prizes he just rode by on his bike, grabbed his prize and rode off again in a hurry - he never got off of it. he claims he was tired and hot and was in a hurry to go home, but I don't know. Hmmmmmm........

As far as baseball goes, things have been interesting. We have won 6 games! We are tied with The Stars right now! Can you believe it? I can't!! This has been such a good baseball year that I am nearly delirious with happiness. There are still three weeks left though, s it is hard to say if we can actually hope to win the cup, but my piggy fingers are crossed!

Bubbles has been very busy lately. The bears next door have decided that it is high time they get organized (frankly I think they should have done this long ago - like in March!) because they do not even have their teddy house done etc. In case you are ignorant, a teddy house is under the house that you live in with people, it is where all our rooms and things are. Anyway, there is a teddy house already there (there usually is from the last owners - unless it is a new house) but they have to tear down some of the walls and add on some more bedrooms and things. Well, they have never done that, instead they have just been camping out in sleeping bags all higgledy pigelty. Finally Mr. Tubby and Bioloski and Timmy have decided that they are going to be staying for awhile, and with school starting again it is time to get organized! So, every day they now have "working hours" during which they have to work on their rooms and things. Poor Bubbles! he is going to be forced to spend the end of summer slaving away - but I suppose that is what happens when you shirk your duties!

Bubbles and i have joined the new Harry Potter club - run by Cluckers & Eggbert, incidentally. We have been discussing various things about the series, such as what has happened, what will happen, etc. The new movie is coming out in November - we are looking forward to it very much.

We are planning a back to school party the weekend before school starts. not sure on the details yet, though, but there is a promise that Natasha will be trying out some of her new recipes for her and Doggie's "Holiday Cookbook" that they are working on.

Well, I will end this for now.
