Greetings to all! I am enjoying my last weekend before school finally starts - which will be on Monday. how time flies!
Well, baseball WAS going good. We lost our last game to Andy's team 9 to 6 and then did not play last week. We are playing against the stars tomorrow, but I don't have a lot of hope. After that is one more game and then the championship. Right now we have won 6 games, Clownie's team has won 7, Andy's team has won 5, Orange Ducky's 6 too, and Booy's team 2. If we loose tomorrow that will push the Clownie's team up to 8, and mean that we probably won't play in the last game of the year (the 3rd) which also means that of the other three teams one will get at least one more win and then a second win on the third which will ruin our chances at the championship. I guess I should be grateful we made it this far, it is just very frustrating when we were so close.
Speaking of Clownie he was out of town last week for a few days. It seems his friend fatty the clown (who is still in Iowa) was taken ill and Clownie went to visit him - he took Hug-Me, Roary and Pandy with him, along with Ellie's good wishes. They are all back now, tough everyone says his absence is what caused them to loose the game, but he said he did not think so and that even if it was that it did not matter because friendship was more important than baseball! Apparently fatty is doing better, but Clownie has been urging him to come down here and live with us. Fatty says he would like to, but he thinks he would miss the circus life too much. (Clownie used to be in the circus too, until they wanted to shoot him out of a canon and then he quit - which was apparently just before they moved to where I and Charlie were living). I don't know if Fatty will ever listen to Clownie, and frankly I think it is getting a bit crowded here anyway!
The back to school party will be tomorrow night. We have rented a pile of movies and Doggie and Natasha have spent most of today in the kitchen as they will be busy tomorrow before the party with baseball and things. We are throwing it in conjunction with The Bears Next Door (since they have lived ere a year it seems silly to keep calling them the Iowa Bears), so it promises to be quite fun!
There was quite a war here last week. As I said last week, the Bears next Door have been working on getting their house finished in time for school to start. Well, Orange Ducky finally snapped under all the pressure and began painting some of the bears! Needless to say there were some exceptions taken and soon a brawl had broken out! Orange Ducky quickly rounded up several bears and he and his paintbrush army began to attack the other half of the angry bears, who then organized under Andy! Then they brought their mess outside where my baseball team was practicing and soon we were covered in paint! i had no choice but to strike back with many buckets of water! Before the end, most of the bears in both houses were involved. Finally Bioloski and Mr. Tubby waded out and threatened to squash anyone who did not quit that instant! he then lectured them all on wasting the paint and the time, so they all ended up working on Saturday before the games! he managed to wrangle some of our bears into helping by
saying that they were also involved, but I refused! I was not at all responsible for getting attacked and defending myself! Hrmphphphp!
Well, that annoying artsy Maria has been - well, annoying. She started her little "Girlie-Artsy-Paper-Dolly-Pink-and-Purple-club" and was staying out of my hair and then she has to go and start getting offensive! She has gone and joined the Harry Potter Club - who knew she was a fan? Anyway, we had a contest to design new covers for our Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and guess who won? SHE DID!!!! It was a travesty, as mine was soooooooo much better than hers! Then, THEN, she had the nerve to upend MY workshop! That's right, I had a workshop planned for the first weekend after school started to make book covers for our books and what did SHE do but schedule one for the same day at the SAME TIME for the SAME THING!!!! And, because she posted the notice first, she gets the workshop! I am as mad as I can get over this, let me tell you! Frankly I think she should go back to where she came from! There's a workshop I bet she would not steal - making "GO AWAY MARIA" posters - though I am sure she would find some way to mess it up too!
I suppose that about wraps up all the annoyances that I have suffered lately - Oh! The-Short-One's father has shown up today, so I am sure that she will not be cleaning the house for the next several days.
Anyway, till next time
