Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I have been singing Christmas carols to myself lately - as the all Christmas music radio station plays junk - weird stuff done by celebrities that are certainly not Christmas songs! Most of them are sappy - lovey songs! What ever happened to Rudolf? Or frosty The Snow Man? I tell ya - this world is getting weirder and weirder every year!

The school play is going to be this week on Friday the 23rd - and then we get out for Christmas vacation. Yes Christmas vacation - not winter break, not winter vacation but CHRISTMAS vacation! I am looking forward to it, needless to say! Hopefully we get some snow!

Speaking of the Christmas play I am forecasting a disaster of gigantic proportions. I am only going to see it to support Bubbles - but their captain hook is awful! I could do better with my eyes closed and hopping on one foot! His "Argh!" is pathetic, and he is not even slightly sinister. But there is no accounting for taste, is there? They could have had me - but instead they chose Chartle! Not my problem!

Sir-laugh-A-Lot's comedy show was... um... interesting. He did manage to wait until the punch lines before he erupted into laughter this time, so maybe by Spring he will be able to actually make it through a joke before bursting into guffaws. I have my doubts of course. Cluckers and Clyde are trying to help him but I have told them it is a lost cause! I am so looking forwards to Christmas! I have been an especially good Piggy this year, and I am sure that Santa cannot help but reward me! I have written him a very long letter detailing all of my good deeds and exactly what I am hoping for. I want a new paint set, a new easel, some ice skates (Bubbles and I are talking of taking it up if it ever freezes, that is), a new sled (one with wheels as well as runners), and.. Well.. It is a long list anyway. Booy is dying for the new captain teddy Video game by Rough Round - but I told him I think he can only expect a lump of coal after the way he has behaved this year.

This house is getting to be quite a pit! The-Short-One has had the flue the last few days and has abandoned the mundane activities such as dishes, sweeping, mopping, dusting.. In other words cleaning in any way. I am terrified that an avalanche of junk is likely to fall on my head at any moment! What a jolly Christmas that will be - lost under a pile of dirty dishes! I have suggested she might want to do something around here but she just sneezed on me! I am hoping Charlie will put his foot down soon - but I don't think he will!

We have also been forced to sit through Gatchaman collector's edition three. How many of these are there?!? Before you ask, it is some strange 80's or 70's Japanese cartoon where everyone runs around in weird clothes and capes and fights this bad guy who wears "evil lipstick" - The-Slobby-Brother-Like-Person's quote. Apparently the-Short-One used to watch this cartoon series when she was a little, little kid and loved it. i would think that upon growing up and developing some taste she would be able to see plainly how awful it truly is, but apparently she did not develop as much taste as I though she did! She has been forcing us all - including poor overworked Charlie - to watch this thing! Finally we are out of episodes, and is anyone buys her collector's set four I will cry!

With the Holidays almost here things have been very busy. We are going to spend this weekend making cookies and candy. Doggie feels that we will all be much more in the Christmas spirit if we help make them. I have my doubts - I rather suspect it is just an excuses so that he will not have to do it all himself! He denies this, needless to say, but I am pretty sure I am on to something! There is another sappy Christmas song on now - "Spending Christmas with you, is spending Christmas in love..." gag me! I need to find a needle for the record player and then we could listen to more Conway Twitty - it is cheesy but at least he isn't carrying on about being in love! The-Short-One loves her Conway Twitty Christmas album - but since the needle broke she has not been able to listen to it.

Well, I suppose I will end this now - I smell a plate of fudge and I believe it has my name on it!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
O
